| There is nothing particularly special about the Fifth Division barracks, mainly because it isn't really necessary for the division to care. They have the basic layout of a Japanese structure, sliding bamboo doors, oaken walk ways and canopied roofing. Most of it is above ground, hoisted by several yew pegs and is surrounded by railings to prevent a spill over the edge. Underneath the structure, there are several walk ways and even a few vacant lots, or courtyards - whichever one prefers to call them. It has gardens surrounding the outer corners of said courtyards, and has stairways that lead up onto the actual walkways. Around the entire complex, there are giant walls, like most divisions - that keep unwanted visitors out. At the top of the archway of the entrance to the division, the Fifth Division symbol is mounted. | |

| Moving so she was standing in front of Shinji, Isako put her hands on her hips. "If you were a horrible person then you wouldn't be helping me. If I were a beautiful angel then I wouldn't have a hollow," she said, tapping her foot. She blushed slightly as she spoke; She usually wasn't so outgoing in a conversation. She let her hands fall back down to her sides and spoke softer. "Besides, if I did... reject you... then would I have come back to Soul Society?" She brushed her bangs out of her eyes and bit her lip, waiting to hear what Shinji had to say. | |

| He just watched her literally lecture him, which was okay. Shinji just waited for her to quit, and then he spoke. "You are an angel. You are beautiful. I am horrible because I am lecherous, Isako." He said, before he watched her speak again - about rejection. After she finished talking, he held her face in his hand and smiled at her. "Holding hands and Soul Society are different, dear. I want to be honest - I have never said this to a woman before. But I always want you around, and I want to fey to know you better, Isako." He said, literally fumbling for words as he looked at the beauty in his haori. | |

| Isako blushed deeper after she finished her little outburst and Shinji began talking. She wanted to protest against what he said about her, but he continued speaking so she didn't have the chance. Everyone in Soul Society knew that he was a womanizer, so Isa couldn't say anything about that. She doubted his ability to change in the aspect; Not that she would ever tell him that. Isako put one of her hands over Shinji's and blushed. Even if she didn't want believe him, it was hard to not to. She sighed and looked up at the much taller figure that was now her captain. "I... I feel the same way," she stuttered, her face turning bright red as she said it. | |

| Her hand felt cool against his and it made him smile. Shinji listened to the beautiful woman as she spoke and turned the deepest, most beautiful shade of scarlet. After she finished, Shinji kissed her cheek and went back to starting at her. "Even more beautiful when you blush..." He said as he swallowed heavily. Now he needed to tell her how he felt, so he sighed and gave it his best attempt. "I want to get the chance to know you... Become friends and date you, eventually. But that must be hard to believe... But I mean it, Isako. You men more to me then sex - let me show you I can change..." | |

| "Okay," Isako said slowly, smiling. "Since you're going to help me, I'll give you a chance." Her voice held a light teasing tone. She had had enough seriousness for one night. Truthfully, Isako probably would have given the captain a chance if she still knew his reputation but they had met under different circumstances. There was something about the captain that made Isako want to learn more about him. Maybe... Maybe he could really change if her met just the right person. But am I the right person? she thought to herself. Thankfully, most of the color from her cheeks had faded, leaving a light pink. | |

| As Isako confirmed his request to be given a chance, he smiled deeply and slid open the door to her quarters. He stepped in with her and spun to the center of the room - his arms outward as he showed it off in all its splendor. "This will be your dormitory, Isako. And please, I help you because I know the pain you feel. You give me a chance, because you honestly want to know if we will be good together." He said, as he stood there, with his arms behind his head - trying to pop an annoying crick in his neck. Now all he needed to do was get her to get some shut-eye and then go get himself some as well. "Well, what do you think dear?" He asked, as he tapped the side of Sakanade as he awaited a reply. | |

| Isako laughed and walked into her new living area. "I can't argue with that," she said, grinning. She looked around the space and nodded. The last time she had slept in a real bed was too long ago for her to remember. Living on the streets so long without any help really makes a person grateful for what they had before. "It's amazing," she told him, looking away from the room and back to him. Isa slid Shinji's haori off of her shoulders and gave it back to him. "You don't have a lieutenant?" she asked, finally realizing where they were. | |

| Shinji simply smirked about her no argument comment, because anything she could have said would have become invalid. He watched her contently as she marveled at the room, probably realizing she hadn't had such luxuries in a while - which made him even happier to accommodate her with such things. "It is always yours, and thank you." He said as he took his haori back and slipped it back on - the ying-yang vibe going on as his regalia crashed with it. Then came the question, about having a vice captain or not - which Shinji currently didn't have. "That is why I had hoped you would come back. Strong, fierce, kindhearted, beautiful Visored woman. Division Five would be under Visored rule, and we would be a powerful duo, Isako. So long as you don't mind paperwork here... there, and hell - everywhere." He said, laughing at the last statement - because it was true, that stuff came out of nowhere when you least expected it. | |

| So that's why, Isako thought to herself, glancing around the area again. She laughed at his comment about the paperwork; She remembered from before how much there was. "I was sort of hoping that the amount of paper work would have gone down not up," she said, smiling at him. Well, I guess he's my captain now, she thought. Isako crossed her arms over her chest in a teasing manner and turned her back on Shinji. "Just because you're my captain doesn't mean I'll do what you say," she informed him. Regardless of her actions and her words, her voice held an unmistakable air of happiness. | |

| He snickered at her comment about the paperwork, which should have actually been true. You would think after a few hundred years, Old Man Yamammoto would have simplified the process - but no. "Sadly no. Seems the old man can't simplify things.... But don't worry - it is just signatures most of the time, Isako." He said as he yawned and covered his mouth with his fist. As she turned her back and crossed her arms, Shinji smiled slightly - and tried not to laugh at what she said. She had tried to be all tough and rebellious, yet she sounded so - happy, which made up for it. "If you listened to everything I said, Isako - I would personally kill you myself. Rules were meant to be broken, and abiding by all of them is simply ludicrous." | |

| Isako spun back around so she was facing Shinji again. "Rules are fun to break," she said, laughing. She pushed her hair over her shoulder and said quietly "Thank you, Shinji." Because of him, she was off the streets and back in Soul Society, even though she was still skeptical about it. She was truly grateful for his help, and she wanted to tell him. She shifted her weight and looked up at her new captain, biting her lip. She took a deep breath and glanced at the futon in the corner, feeling the urge to sleep. | |

"But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?" |
