Squad Nine Captain's Office

The Squad Nine Captain office is built like most others, the walls are colored light brown and has sturdy hardwood floors. The only decoration is a simple acustic guitar sitting in the corner of the office which Shuuhei loves to play when he takes a break, his playing has improved so his squad doesn't complain like it once did.

The desk in the squad nine office had become cluttered with paperwork, the once neat desk looked as though a tornado had swept through and made a complete mess of the stacks of papers which had been sitting pretty on the burgundy colored desk. The reason for the piling paperwork was an increase of new squad members fresh out of the Academy and though they could hold a sword and perform the basic fighting skills required, most of them didn't know how to do the paperwork that came with the job or simply didn't due the work because they were more about the action than the office aspect of their new career. Now the papers were in disarray due to the fact that the office had a problem, a bird had some how found its way into the captains office and couldn't get out. So naturally the captain tried to gently capture the bird so it could be released back out in the wild, though the task proved difficult for him to manage alone so he called for the back up of his lieutenant and a couple other members who stood outside the office door in case they were needed. It took two hours and four people before they were able to trap the bird, during which time there was a lot of moving about and bumping into the desk, hence causing the stacks of papers to crumble and create the mess there currently was.

When the mess was over Shuuhei all but plopped down in his chair, tired from an ordeal which made the day slightly more difficult than it already was, having been called to fix five paper jams and two errors with the printing machines. His slate gray/silvery eyes were drooped in a tired feature, his elbows on the desk and holding his head in his hands, giving a long, deep sigh. Feeling the beginning of a stress headache creep up on him, he had figured when he took this promotion that things would run smoother since there was a captain to properly lead the squad but he had been proven wrong by his own division. The lieutenant, and long time girlfriend to the captain, Kizomaru stood behind his chair and gave the poor overly stressed man a much needed shoulder rub.

"It's a mess..." Shuuhei sighed, his voice muffled by his hands. Referring to the state of the office after the mess with the bird just a few minutes ago, he looked up from his hands and leaned back in his chair, making Kizo adjust for his movements as she tried to help relieve his stress. He smiled at the gesture and closed his eyes to allow himself the moment of peace which came with her touch."It's only been a few hours into the work day and I'm already tired." He stated, hating how his new job was beating him so."You'd think I'd be used to this kind of thing since I was pretty much running things before my promotion but I now see the difference between where I was and where I am now."

"It's only been a week since your promotion, things will get better as you get used to your new position." Kizomaru told him reassuringly, knowing the troubles of adjusting to a new position of power from the experience of taking Shuuhei's old spot."Just give it time and you'll be alright." She added, switching to a deep tissue massage to help further her efforts of relaxing him. She smiled when he placed one of his hands on hers, feeling him relax under her grip and even hearing a little purr of approval from him made her chuckle."Feeling better?"

He nodded as part of his reply, feeling himself relax so much he felt as though he were going to fall asleep in his chair where he sat."Hell yeah.." Shuuhei answered with a chuckle, keeping himself focused on her massage rather than the work in front of him which he knew was still there in the back of his mind but he let himself ignore it for now. The stress from the last week had piled on and he needed to unwind before getting back into the mess of papers on his desk, swearing to himself that when he was more relaxed he'd dive in head first.

She chuckled back, leaning down to place a sweet and quick kiss on his cheek where his tattoo proudly sat. Her massage continued and would do so until he asked her to stop."Good, I hate seeing you so tense." Kizomaru replied, happy she was able to help him unwind and relax. When things fell silent it stayed that way, just enjoying the peaceful moment and letting it drag on for however long they felt like letting it. The outside world ceased to exist and time seemed to freeze, allowing them to remain in bliss for what would feel like forever.

An hour had passed since the incident with the bird this morning and both the captain and lieutenant had returned to their work, Kizomaru returned to her office and Shuuhei began working on the stacks of paperwork which had flooded his office. Though the stacks were down by half, simply because Kizomaru insisted on taking half his load to help give him a break. He chuckled softly to himself as he did his work, seemingly breezing through it. Of course it was rather ease being that most of it was from the newbies and as such they had the easier work, so naturally a captain would move through such work with ease. As did his lieutenant who was working in the next room, he could hear her humming through the walls of the office and he smiled to himself. The sound would always help him push through the day.

Kizomaru sat calmly behind her desk, ink well pen in hand and speedily moving through the combination of her work and the half which she took from Shuuhei. Humming a sweet sounding tune, always hating the silence which often accompanied her whenever she'd work. So to help fill the dead air she would hum, the sound of the tune varied depending on her mood and since today she was feeling rather cheerful the tune which she emanated sounded cheerful as well. More often than not others would hear of her shadow based power and assume she would be of a darker personality, so when they got to know her they found her personality rather odd and in conflict with what they thought. It didn't really bother her though, she never really cared what anyone else thought as she was happy enough with herself as she is.

Unexpectedly, through the open window in both the captain and lieutenants office came a hell butterfly. Appearing before each of them with an urgent message, Shuuhei blinked and put his hand out for the creature to land on. The butterfly did so as if by instinct or as if magnetically drawn to his hand, landing softly on his outstretched finger. Flapping it's black and blue hued wings it began to repeat the message recorded by the one who sent it out;

"Attention all Captains, Lieutenants and seated able body officers, an emergence situation in the human world requires immediate attention. Karakura town had seemingly been over run by Arrancar, I repeat, all able bodied Captains, Lieutenants and Seated Officers are to make way to Karakura town at once."

Shuuhei blinked, watching the hell butterfly leave his presence after relaying the message. Quickly he got up, his zanpakuto Kazeshini tied to his left hip He took hasted steps to the office door and all but threw it open. Meeting his Lieutenant Kizomaru outside his office who was coming to inform him, the two looked at each other.

"Did you hear...?" Shuuhei asked, his tone carried a sense of alarm as he spoke. He began running towards the Senkaimon and Kizomaru followed hastily behind her captain and boyfriend, she nodded in reply to his question as they shunpoed as fast as their legs could. The two speeding past other divisions who were assembling their own forces as had been ordered, running into the third seated officer of Squad Thirteen Mizuko along their way. The trio of Shinigami arrived at the Senkaimon and awaited for it to be opened upon Shuuhei's order, three hell butterfly accompanied them all as they ran straight through in a rush as soon as the Senkaimon had been opened. Heading for Karakura town to assist in the emergency situation.

A subtle black butterfly with pink lining flutters into the Captain's office. It twirls around, leaving its trail before landing in the captain's desk. If any were to touch it, it would deliver the following message in the message of Ichibantai's fukutaicho Tageshi Ryonnen:
