| The room is almost completely black except for what little light a tall, thin window lets in. The floor is of a black granite, shining under the light. Heavy black cloth coveres the walls like curtains. The ceiling's white color clashes with the darkness of the rest of the room. It is nearly void of furniture except for a black, gothic styled trone chair sitting infront of the window and leaving a long shadow across the floor. | |

| Long shadows of feathers were cast against the fabric were cast across the walls covered in flowing fabric the color of the darkest night. Kali sat in his chair without the slightest movement and if one didn't know better they'd think of him nothing more than a statue of the espada, left in the place of the man whom it took its likelyness after. However the soft sounds of spaced out breaths made it clear that the form that sat in the chair wasn't that of a carved statue.
With a breath deeper than those before it, Kali moved just an inch, raising his head from its slightly turned down position. Long lashes fluttered as he opened his eyes to reveal surprisingly shiny silver orbs that held more life than their owner ever gave the feeling of. The black feathers of his collar ruffled with the miniscule movement, brushing over his fair cheeks that were marred by the marks of black that ran down from his eyes.
The shadows on the wall grew taller as Kali stood, reaching his full height of six feet. the heels of his black boots tapped lightly on the stone hard floor under them as the espada turned and walked around his chair to gaze out the window. At first the light burned at his retinas and he had to squint to minimize that discomfort it brought him, but quickly his eyes adjusted to the new onslaught of light that hadn't experienced for hours or days. Kali was really unsure of just how long he'd been sitting there enjoying his quiet solitude.
From the the tine tall window that in a way reflected his stature, the arrancar looked out over Las Noches. He was't watching anything in particular, instead going off into one of his dazes that would make him lose contact for days. More often not when it was said he had just gone missing this is what he was doing. Watching and waiting for something that he was unsure of exactly.

| A thought snapped Kali from his nearly endless daze. His silver eyes trailed away from the view the window offered as he turned his head. they now fell upon the large white door that called to him in a way. He turned his body fully, causeing the tail of his coat to waves slightly. A few strands of black hair fell into his face, swaying as he began to take long strides across the foor with long steps that carried him with grace.
When he was just feet before the door, he lifted his hand out infront of hi. The long white cleeves of his coat slipped down some with the action, revealing lengthy, slender fingers that barely brushed the smooth surface of the door before it flew open, creating a wind that made the curtains of the walls that kept the room shrouded in darkness sway briefly.
Once the door was standing open, Kali continued his long strides. His hands found their way to his pockets, pushing down deep into their cover. The taps from his boots began to fade as they grew in distance from the now empty room.

| The sound of echoing footsteps filled the room as Kali drew closer to it. They could be heard throughout the hall way that lead to the large white door that was marked with the number 3. Kali made quick work of the rest of the corridor, surprised he hadn't stumbled upon other espada. Seems the human world really was busy if most of them were still out fighting. Honestly he was glad he and lanu had left when they had. Though he figured it might not be a bad idea to check on things if the others didn't return soon. Surely with so much activity it would blow into a full on battle. Kali shook his head, banishing that thought for now. He reached forward and opened the door, stepping through into his dark lit room.
When the door fell shut behind him even more darkness welcomed him and Kali let out a quiet, relieved sigh. The shadows were one thing he trully loved, understanding them fully. He looked to the long shaows left against black fabric that hung from the walls, silver eyes following them up to white ceiling. Turning his eyes elsewhere, Kali walked toward on of the walls, moving a curtain aside. A sliding door was revealed and he opened it just a crack. Inside was much like a closet and as he reached in his fingers were met with the tickling feel of black feathers. He pulled the garment they were attached to out, closing the door and letting the curtain fall back into place. It was the same jacket he always wore, having several just like for times like these when one got ruined.
Setting the jacket on the arm of his chair, Kali turned his attention to the bandages still wrapped around his torso. With the way the healing green liquid worked he flet he could do without them. Carefully he began to unwrap them, letting a pile of the dirtied bandages form on the floor. Once they were all removed he ran a hand along his side then up his back, finding that most of the skin was back together and if not scabbed over and nearly healed up. Pleased with that, the espada picked up the jacket, slipping his arms into the oversized sleeves with some care to not bother his wounds however much they could be anymore. He pulled it closed, doing up a few buttons but allowing the top to be lax. The feather covered most of his chest, standing up as tall as to reach his chin.

| Raising his hand to adjust his long hair out from the confines of the coat, the long sleeves slipped down and revealed arms that didn't look all that impressive when it same to muscle-tone, just like any other part of him that was simply normal and misleading to his strength. The feathers around his neck rustled with the movement of his black hair, showing a soft shine under the light they caught from the window. that Shine caught Kali's eye and as he lowered his hands to be hidden once more, he turned his head to gaze out the tall but thin opening. It was much too quiet in Las Noches, even for his liking. It almost made him uneasy but he didn't doubt things would be starting up here once again soon enough.
Looking away from the window the sound of his heeled boots echoed throughout the tall ceilinged room again as Kali headed to the door. His steps caused his hair to shift, several strands the color of a moonless night cascading down into his face as it often did, another way of cutting him off from the other arrancars though he didn't mind it. Not bothering to move his hair, the espada just kept walking until he reached the door once again. He reached out, only his fingertips touching its surface before it began to open with the quietest of creaks that with the silence of the rest of Las Noches seemed to be the equivelent of a bomb going off as its sound radiated trough the hall before him. Kali didn't flinch at the sound, just kept a straight face like he had heard nothing as he stepped out, letting the door close behind him with the same creak it had opened with.

| It's dark. Why? Out of all the colors we chose black? We could have had any other color, but wanted to be void of everything. To be consumed by darkness. We rise from the shadows. That is fact. Halrow stood silently as he thought to himself. He couldn't help, but to let his mind wander. These shadows hold us back, yet they give us strength. I do not understand our power. I do not want to understand. My instinctive curiosity does. It wants me find truth. I have no clue what truth is or what it can do. His ember eyes blinked in the dark abyss of a room. They almost radiated light. I have not a single guess as how terrifying truth can be. I am terrified simply thinking of it. Maybe truth is found fear? Perhaps even the moment of death? Maybe then we see truth in perfect clarity. I hope so. Halrow's breathing was light and just near silent. He wish it wasn't. He couldn't help, but to find the silence torturous. Nothing stood between him and his mind which he much prefered to blissfully ignore. | |

| Halrow now infatuated by his thoughts left the room. He needed to explore a bit. He was tired of standing around like a pillar gathering dust by the centuries. Speaking of aging he asked himself when will he start to wrinkle? If even possible will it look it good? Halrow didn't have the answer, but will surely ask making a fool of himself while doing so. Halrow didn't want to leave after a few steps. Maybe Kali would unexpectedly come and ask of him? It could cause unnecessary problems. More over problems that would affect him. Never a good thing.

| Within the now silent, lone darkness of the room, space appeared to rip apart, revealing a new black of a garganta. Froms its confines stepped Kali, seeming unharmed from his prior trip to the world of the living. If anything he had just gotten his cllothes of white and pale skin a bit dirty from sweat and ash. His hand raised to wipe at his cheek and he wasn't surprised to see the black tinted sweat that now dripped down from long fingers. "Disgusting..." he murmured in distaste, eyes slightly narrowed. He wondered just how notiacble such dirtyness was against that black streaks that permanently marked his face for a moment before shaking his hand out before him and watching the sweat droplets fling into the air in all different directions.
His steps echoed in the dimly lit room as the espada made his way to a closet hidden away by the thick black curtains. Pulling it aside he reached into the closet, his hand coming across the soft surface of a small washrag. Taking it out Kali brushed the white cloth across his skin, wiping away sweat and grime that had gathered there. Bathing was something he saw in his near future, but before that he had something else to do before he could go on with any other plans. "He better not have overdone it" His voice wasa low rumble as he said the words through clenched teeth. Tossing the washcloth away, Kali turned on the heels on his boots. Knowing his brother, he couldn't really be sure how Lanu was doing, how reckless he might have been. He might have seemed angry with his frown and the glare that was notable even with the lack of light that shone on them. Really though he was just anxious, worried, even if he could still tell his sibling was around somewhere and probably just fine.
It was rare he allowed anyone to see his face twisted with any kind of expression but this time he didn't even bother to fully compose himself before speedily walking to the towering doors of his room. Without a second thought he pushed one open with more strength than was necessary wven if it was just more than a tap from him. The curtain covered door flew open, the black fabric following short behind it like a cape. New light poured into the room, directly into silver irises, causing a bit of a difficulty in sight for their owner. He only narrowed his eyes more, black lashes shading his eyes from much of the light that made them ache for just a moment. Kali bowed his head as he stepped out into the hall, and ,much like it always did, his black hair fell into his face, further sheilding it from the brightness windows let in as well as any person who might have previously seen emotion on his features before it was hidden.

"But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?" |
