Weapons: Not really a weapon, but can be used as one: A necklace that Ichirin always wears made of steel beads. There a 5 fang-shaped beads on the necklace at regular intervals. It is rumoured that this necklace seals away much of her spiritual pressure, 90% to be exact. This is why her reiatsu always feels so much smaller compared to that of the other captains, but this is definitely not the case. Naturally, if she were to take it off, her reiatsu would skyrocket.

Personality: Overall, Ichirin maintains an easygoing yet reserved persona. She rarely smiles, always having a solemn or irate expression. She is very ill-tempered, aggressive, and confrontational. She barely addresses anyone with proper respect, but even so, many would trust her with their life. She is very protective of those who are precious to her, completely disregarding her own safety when a friend or member of her squad is in danger. She is quite reckless, always using risky tactics to get close to an enemy in battle, as she is more accustomed to close combat; one of the main reasons that she was inducted into squad 11.

Physical Appearance: Ichirin has golden eyes, a slender build, and a peach skin tone. Her hair is long and yellow-blonde, cut in many layers so that her hair looks spiky. She has what looks like three black slashes tattooed on the underside of her left wrist. She usually wears the traditional shihakusho and a tattered captain’s haori with the sleeves completely ripped off. The usual white sash around her waist has been replaced by a thick black chain, over top of a red obi. She stands at the height of 5’7 and weighs 125 lbs, with average proportions.

Bio: Ichirin remembers nothing of her life before she “died”. Soon after coming into the Soul Society, Ichirin joined the 13 court guard squads as a member of Squad 2. She was soon transferred to Squad 11 for her “unruly behaviour” which should have gotten her executed, but the 13 court guard squads valued her skill and determination. She often ran off and trained on her own, where she would sit in seclusion, practicing Jinzen. She conversed much with Tokoyami, but had a tough time earning the respect of Dokuso, who was picky about his wielder. Her inner hollow, Nirihci, made things particularly difficult for her. Much of the time, Ichirin couldn’t even call out Dokuso, but eventually though sheer determination and suffering through the qualms of her moon-lit inner world, Ichirin gained the absolute trust of both her partners. She learned the art of unifying the two separate spirits into one and then accepting them. This was the true nature of her bankai. She is closer to her zanpakuto than most; the tattoo on her wrist is proof of what they endured together. It was gained from a particularly fierce training session between her and Dokuso. Dokuso had slashed her wrist, and when it looked like she would bleed to death, black reiatsu burst from the wounds and healed it, leaving a mark of pure darkness, from Tokoyami. However, since Ichirin focused so much on her zanpakuto, she only has intermediate control of her inner hollow. So far, she has been able to successfully hold it back, but there is always the chance that she could lose control. If this ever happened she would gain a form similar to a Vasto Lordes; her hollow is quite powerful, yet oddly solitary. Eventually, Ichirin came back to the Seireitei. By this time, she had become much stronger thanks to her solo training; she was able to outclass anyone in her squad with ease. As Kenpachi Zaraki had inexplicably left his position as captain of squad 11, she was able to obtain this rank, even though she was a visored. It was surprising how much the values and morale of the Soul Society had changed, but hey, she wasn’t to complain. For once in her life, she was accepted. From then on, she dedicated her entire being to protecting the Soul Society, Living World, and all those within it.

Zanpakuto


Name: Tokoyami (translates to “Everlasting Darkness” in Japanese) and Dokuso (translates to “Toxin” in Japanese)

Zanpakuto spirit: Tokoyami is very dark, almost having a malicious appearance. With long, flowing black hair and glowing red irises, she has a sinister air about her. Her form indicates that she is obviously female, though she wears tattered black robes. She also had tight black bandages wrapped around her wrists and the lower half of her face, right under her eyes. She constantly emits a dark aura and thick black chains seem to be suspended in the air around her. Despite her appearance, Tokoyami is actually very caring, though she acts cold most of the time. Dokuso on the other hand, could be described as an “evil little bastard”. He has the appearance of an 8 year old child, with spiky white hair and lime-green eyes. He always wears a mischievous smirk. He has black shackles on both of his wrists which are attached to vicious-looking hand claws on each hand. He is very rebellious and picky about his wielder. He wears odd form-fitting white robes.

Inner world: Upon entering, one would see an endless forest. The sky is a dark purple colour and the moon is always in its waxing crescent phase. Oddly, there are no stars even though it is always night. At the heart of the forest is a large clearing, ringed by bushes of light purple flowers. In the dead centre of said clearing, an eight-foot tall structure of clear crystal stands, with a jagged, sharp tip. Tokoyami and Dokuso usually reside in this clearing while Nirihci roams the untamed forest.

Sealed form: In sealed state, Tokoyami is a large buster sword measuring 5 feet long and 5 inches wide. It has a jet-black blade, no guard, and dark blue cloth wrapped tightly around the hilt. Dokuso in sealed state does not exist. It appears after Ichirin activates shikai. One could say it is a constant release zanpakuto that doesn’t make its presence known until the wielder wishes it.

Shikai: (Tokoyami) The blades does not change in appearance, though it does start to emit a sinister black aura. (Dokuso) Once this shikai is activated, green light manifests over Ichirin’s left hand and forms into hand claws made from black diamond. There are 5 claws, each one a foot long, which are all secured to her hand and wrist by slender black chains, which wrap tightly around the rest of her arm, up to her shoulder. Each claw emanates a wicked lime-green light that puts even the most seasoned warrior at ease. If these claws even touch something, organic or not, that which is in contact will begin to dissolve until contact is broken.

Call out phrase: “Howl in anguish, Tokoyami!” and “Break down, Dokuso!” These zanpakuto can be activated separately.

Tokoyami


Gekido (translates to “Rage” in Japanese) –the blade flares up with intense reiatsu to increase cutting capabilities, even having the power to cut through a weaker shinigami's zanpakuto if contact is prolonged.

Kura Senkō (translates to “Black Lightning” in Japanese) -a black and white surge of spiritual energy in the shape of a jagged spiral is fired at lightning speed. Black static radiates 2 feet from the blast on all sides with the potential to temporarily stun an enemy.

Kokutan Sogi Tō (translates to “Ebony Funeral Tower in Japanese) -a tower of reiatsu rises around the opponent with the top sealed off as white reiatsu erupts from the ground where they’re standing to cut through anything in the tower (can only be used once per day). To escape this technique, one must escape the circle in the first place, or get through the top of the tower before it seals.


Dokuso


Yudoku Genshi (translates to “Toxic Atom” in Japanese) -a small black ball is released from the tip of Dokuso's middle claw that floats around the area slowly, it looks harmless but will eat away at anything it touches at a frightening pace (only one can be created in shikai, two in bankai). The more organic material a Yodoku Genshi eats, the bigger it gets, though the growth is rather sluggish.


Bankai


Bankai name: Inazuma Ni Tokoyami, Tenbatsu No Dokuso (translates to “Lightning Within the Everlasting Darkness, Divine Punishment of Toxin” in Japanese)

Bankai description: An explosion of black reiatsu occurs, covering the entire area within a mile in a pitch-black dome that lasts until bankai is deactivated. You can still see and hear in the dome. Ichirin gains hand claws similar to Dokuso’s shikai on both hands, but the claws are now 2 feet long and sport a silver edge. Ichirin’s clothing changes as well; her captain’s haori and the sleeves of her shihakusho disappear and strips of dark grey cloth cover her wrists, arms, ankles, neck, and the lower half of her face. Her red obi is tied backwards around her waist and the bow is quite large. In bankai, her speed, durability, and overall endurance is drastically enhanced. Her movements are so quick and sudden, that she takes on an ethereal disposition, like a ghost

Any abilities/techniques:


Fukai Zetsubō (Deepest Despair)- basically is a wave of black reiatsu that she can summon at will with a slash of either hand. The reiatsu can instantly nullify other reiatsu-based attacks and will break down whatever it touches. It is an attack that consumes people, like despair, if you let it get to you. The release of this technique cause those in the vicinity to become inexplicably depressed.


Inner Hollow


Name of inner hollow: Nirihci (Ichirin spelled backwards)

Personality: On the surface, Nirihci is very outwardly aggressive, sadistic, and vindictive. It doesn’t like Tokoyami at all, preferring the company of Dokuso, as they are more alike. Most of all, Nirihci prefers to be alone. Nirihci’s goal is to take over Ichirin’s body, but it is biding its time, waiting for the right moment to strike. Being a more powerful hollow, Nirihci doesn’t respect Ichirin enough to merge with her zanpakuto, but allows her to use its mask now, after Ichirin defeated Nirihci in her bankai tribulations.

Appearance: Nirihci is basically a white copy of Ichirin. It doesn’t wear the captain’s haori, but retains the shihakusho, which is obviously white. Its skin and hair is white, and the sclera of its eyes is black, while the irises are orange. Nirihci usually wears a stoic expression, unless fighting; then the expression changes to a sadistic smirk.

Hollow mask: In form, Ichirin’s mask is almost fox-like. Two triangular “ears” are formed at the top, which are black-tipped. On each side of the mask, markings shaped like black lightning bolts adorn the surface of the mask, the rest of which is white. When in use, the hollow mask increases Ichirin's overall strength, speed, and durability. She can also shoot a cero from the palm of her hand or the tip of either zanpakuto. The ceros are usually a lime-green colour.

Zanjutsu- fighting using a zanpakuto; Ichirin's highest area of expertise.

Ho-ho- fighting with flash steps; Ichirin's second highest area of expertise.

Hakuda- hand-to-hand combat; Ichirin is also very adept in this category, 3rd.

Kido- bakudo and hado spells; Ichirin's lowest mastery. She can use pretty much any high level spell, but it can go out of control. she is more accustomed to melee combat so doesn't use kido often.
